Catrike's new production facility

After years of continued growth we have reached a milestone and are happy to announce we have moved to a beautiful industrial brick building in Orlando, FL.

In our previous space we utilized every single square inch for productivity. Now we have moved to a much larger and nicer 15,000 sq ft factory, with over 10,000 sq ft of purely production area. This represents twice the area we had before for production.

Our new facility will allow us to continue to innovate through R&D, advancements in automation, design and processes helping us to expand our capabilities and increase capacity.

Our latest fiscal year has been a record in sales, revenues and productivity. The new factory will allow us to meet the growing demand for high quality trikes.

We take great pride and care with every trike we make. We focus on product development using real life engineering applications for our products to consistently maintain and improve quality in everything we do.

As a lean manufacturer we can continue improving and perfecting techniques in operating efficiencies to meet demand and create the best atmosphere possible for all our employees which is an important step in our continued growth.

Growth and Tour

Our new location will allow for future expansion in research and development as well as customer service and support to our dealers and Catrike owners.

For our 10th annual Catrike Factory Tour and Rally on March 1st 2014, we will open the new building to the public for the first time and show some really great new equipment and the process of making Catrikes.

We truly believe that only when one sees our operation and how Catrikes are designed, engineered, tested and made that you really understand what we are all about and the true value behind a Catrike and its incredible design and quality.

This is a great time to celebrate with us the expansion of our brand and be part of our history.

Silent Auction Update

We want to congratulate Bill Kelley from New York for being the high bidder on the Catrike Speed “R” up for auction to help Marilyn during such difficult times.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the silent auction for the Catrike Speed. Marilyn has been a strong advocate for cycling and very generous with her time, money and energy. We are honored to have such great customers and are so happy that we can work together to provide support for someone so special to the cycling community. We wish Marilyn a “Speedy” recovery.

Catrike silent auction to benefit Marilyn Hayward

As most of you know, Marilyn Hayward the owner of Coventry Cycles in Portland, was injured doing what she loves to do best, riding her recumbent. She is recovering slowly but surely and needs our help.

We have put together this ridiculously-cool discontinued Catrike Speed for silent auction, which was intended to be in our Catrike museum forever, but is now going to help Marilyn with a Speedy recovery.

This is a Catrike Speed "R" specification with 10 Speed Sram Rival Group that retails for $2650 and has special graphite colored rims that is a one of a kind set of wheels.

This is your last chance for all you Speed lovers who call and post on the forums to "Bring back the Speed" to get a very nice trike as well as being an incredible financial help to one of the most amazing people we know. Marilyn is a huge asset to the recumbent industry and would probably never ask anyone for help, but she truly needs it. 100% of the funds raised are going directly to her and we will arrange through our Catrike dealers all logistics to get this Catrike to the winner.

The All New Catrike Road

We are very proud to introduce the all new Catrike Road. The 2012 Catrike Road has been designed, engineered and built with the utmost attention to detail. Our goal was to achieve solid performance and the ride-quality expected of a Catrike, but with a layer of comfort and shock absorption. The deadline was to achieve perfection, not an arbitrary date. The result is a fast and truly stunning looking trike, weighing 38 pounds with incredible handling and comfort.

The swing arm, with a high travel rate, pivots on an oversized hollow alloy axle, actuating the air shock in a progressive manner through a linkage system that pivots through the frame, unique to this trike, providing both a total shock absorption and a very high torsion stiffness. Thanks to applying the fundamentals of motorcycle suspension design, our anti-squat geometry (intersection of the swing arm and chain line is at a proper location in reference to the line between the contact patch of the rear tire and center of gravity at wheel base length) transfers all pedal power to the rear wheel with the frame perfectly rigid. "Basically when you ride the new Catrike Road, you can't tell that there is suspension because is so efficient, but if you hit a bump you won't feel it either".

State of the Art, Architechtural Swing Arm

Through bold design choices and careful structural and computer analysis, we were able to design a gorgeous architectural "see through" swing arm, that is 100% CNC machined, very light weight, strong, stiff and durable. The new Road has 15 new unique CNC machined parts and the assembly is done with a total of 12 teflon coated bearings to avoid any metal on metal contact at the joints. This results in zero stitcheon (static friction), providing the silk like feel or "hidden quality" we are always striving for. All of the pivot housing is designed and machined in the style of "fork" brackets for a perfect fit and zero play between the bearings and pivots, providing a maintenance free assembly.

On top of all that, we put a lot of focus on choosing the right shock, one with a custom spring rate specifically selected for our weight distribution and suspension kinematics for a controlled jounce and rebound of the suspension. The trike comes complete with high end 100% SRAM components, including a Monarch air shock that allows adjustments for different weight and equipped with rebound dampening control (air pump for adjustments not included). It is perfect for taking the roughness out of high frequency uneven surfaces.

The new Catrike Road is a truly great trike, but we think it will speak for itself, so go and try one at your closest Catrike Dealer!
